The benefits of organic skincare

As a GP, one of my primary concerns is preventing diseases and other health issues. However, I am equally passionate about protecting this beautiful planet that we are all a part of. Part of the answer to both these problems is clear to me: an organic lifestyle. In my opinion, this is the only choice for anyone who cares about the welfare of animals, with world peace, and with social justice. Ghandi, who also lived an organic lifestlyle, is one of my greatest inspirations, and once said "We have to be the change that we want to make".

When I initially started conducting research into skincare ingredients, it quickly became clear to me that they should be certified as organic. This is the best way to make sure that ingredients are at their optimum in terms of quality, and that any negative impact on the environment is minimal: Any skincare ingredients from sources that are not certified as organic are more than likely from farms that use pesticides. Not only do pesticides have a negative impact on our environment, but also our health.

It doesn't take a scientist to discover that there is no real sense in applying products to your skin that contain potentially harmful chemicals. The largest organ of our body, the skin actually "breathes" through our pores. Whatever we apply to it is potentially transferred to our inner organs. Organic options ensure the ideal diet for your skin and our planet.

Farms that use organic techniques use no potentially harmful chemicals, and make sure that the ingredients reach end users at their most potent. With traditional farming techniques, such as composting, crop rotation, biological pest control, as opposed to pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, raw ingredients are pure, and uncontaminated. Truly organic skincare products include no synthetic chemicals, and are made with ingredients that do not have a negative impact on our health or our planet.
